My name is Dominique Nicole and the website you’re looking at is the beginning of my dream to become a front-end web developer/graphic designer. I also, love to write so a blog was most suitable for my journey.
I am from North Philadelphia. One of the worst neighborhoods in Philly and still I am choosing not to be a product of my environment. However, I do love my city. Philadelphia is an admirable place rich with culture and fascinating history. I doubt I would ever move and love another city the way I love this one.
On my blog you will soon be able to find out a lot about me and my history. For now here is a brief run down…
I am the youngest of 4 kids. Sharing a father with only my brother. From 9th grade to 12th I worked for a local non-profit organization and upheld multiple internships working and gaining experience. After graduating high school I quit and went straight to college. While I tried my hardest to keep up, problems at home seemed to hold me back. In my second year of college I found out I would be having a Gastroschesis baby. (I will write a post about it later) I practically lived in the hospital for what was almost two years. Never leaving my sons side. Today my son is alive and well (minus his speech delay and some stomach issues) When i decided he was well enough for me to go back to work I put him in day care. I’ve worked ever since to provide and live for him.
My goal is to learn how to be a web developer/graphic designer and start my own web design business where I can give back to my city by teaching kids how wonderful technology can be and how anyone can be successful if they put their minds to it. Even if (like myself) they don’t have the means to attend college they still can make it far.
I started this blog to get my story out there and my feet wet in the web business. I will be posting all sorts of stuff that has to do with tech, books, makeup, and my many other hobbies. As I move a long in my adventure to be great i will provide you with any and all resources I find so you can join me. Always feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
My favorite quote:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson
